FAQ
When should I make my booking?
As soon as you know your event date.
2-3 weeks is a good guide, however some event bookings are made more than 12 months is advance.
The calendar can often book out quickly, so booking ahead will increase the likelihood of your event date being available.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, a 50% deposit will secure your date in the calendar.
Dates are not held without a deposit, and it allows me to organise materials and any customised items for your design.
What the difference between a coffee and dessert cake portion?
The difference between the two portion sizes is as follows:
Dessert portions are 2"x1".
This portion size is recommended for celebration and wedding cakes, where the cake is served as dessert.
Coffee portions are smaller cake slices of 1"x1".
This portion size is recommended for events where there are other dessert options, and for weddings where it will be served as as accompaniment to coffee and tea.
You will recevie a cake serving guide with information on cutting your cake into the correct sizes.
Do you make cupcakes?
Yes I do. The minimum order for cupcakes is two dozen.
To request them, please fill out the order form as usual and add a note in the field at the bottom for me.
Do you offer allergen free and vegan cakes?
As I work in a kitchen that process gluten and dairy, I don't offer allergen free or vegan cakes and cookies.
Can I order an undecorated cake and decorate it myself?
To maintain alignment with food safety practices and insurance compliance, I only offer fully decorated cakes.
How do I transport my cake?
The best place for cakes in transit is always the front seat footwell (the floor of your front seat).
Cakes need to travel flat, not on laps or seats as they're slightly angled and cakes can tip easily.
Also, no better way to keep an eye on your precious cargo than letting it ride shotgun.
Do you take on last minute orders?
I'll try my best, without impacting bookings already in the calendar.
Just pop your form through with your details.
Where are you based?
I'm based in Jan Juc, on the Surf Coast.
Do you make custom flavours?
No. My available have been tried and tested over a long period of time to ensure consistency and structural integrity when making tiered cakes.
New flavours will be available from time to time, however I don't take custom flavour requests.
