Hi there, I’m Cynthia.
Cake maker, ocean dweller, coffee drinker, day dreamer and boundary pusher.
Sweetening up celebrations across the Surf Coast and Geelong with custom cakes and custom cookie sets is my dream job.
I’m armed with a background in Food Science and Nutrition, an intense fascination for how things work and a huge appreciation for the connection between art and food. Blending knowledge, self-taught skills and endless imagination to create bespoke custom cakes is my favourite recipe.
To say the fairy tales of my childhood still inspire me is an understatement.
From Enid Blyton’s ‘Faraway Tree’ to Roald Dahl’s ‘Willy Wonka,’ you’d always find me with my nose in a book and my head in the clouds.
I’m happy to say nothing’s changed much, except that now my inspiration lives in nature, architecture, the colours of fairy floss skies and caramel hued swirls in your coffee before your first sip dissipates them.
Born and raised in a food adoring Italian family saw me with my little hands in the flour at a young age. Baking to share with others and for gifting is a die hard Italian tradition. So it’s no surprise that watching clients light up at the sight of their custom cake brings me absolute joy. Especially those little faces laying eyes on a highly anticipated cake! Whimsical kid’s birthday cakes are some of my personal favourites to create.
When it comes to food and life, here’s what I believe in:
Rules are made to be broken.
Creating a special occasion is better than waiting for one.
You should always have your cake and eat it, too.
And when it comes to custom cakes (and cookies), there is SO much to get excited about.
Bold or understated designs, or even bold but understated.
Muted and minimal or fresh and modern.
Sweet and whimsical or simple and clean.
Covered in lush, local blooms or handmade sugar detailing
Imagination is our only limit.
